Do you offer a rush service?

Yes, for manuscript assessments, line & copy-editing, proof-editing and proofreading. An additional fee (30 %) applies.

Can I request a sample edit?

Yes! I offer a free sample edit for developmental editing or line & copy-editing of up to 1,000 words so you can see my editing style before committing. If your work-in-progress is 20,000 words or less, I will provide a sample edit of 500 words. Please send 5,000 words from the middle of your draft.

Do you work with other genres?

Yes! For proofreading, I work with all fiction genres and am happy to find any lingering typos.

Do you work with clients outside of the UK?

Yes, as long as your manuscript is written in either American or British English, I’m happy to work with you, no matter where you are!

What payment methods do you accept?

I accept payments via bank transfer. If you’re outside the UK, I use Wise for international bank transfers. This allows you to pay in your local currency while I receive the payment in GBP. Wise is secure, easy to use, and there are no fees for you on your end.

You’ll receive the same comprehensive editorial letter, covering strengths, weaknesses, and suggestions for improvement, as you would with a developmental edit. However, there will be no in-line comments on your manuscript.

Get a general overview of your work-in-progress.

You’ll receive a short editorial letter (approx. 3–5 pages), without any comments on your manuscript. This letter highlights what’s working well and what may need improvement, evaluates how your story meets genre and reader expectations, and offers advice on your next steps.

I’m also happy to address any specific questions you may have or tailor the report to focus entirely on those areas.

Come back within six months for another edit, and I’ll deduct this fee.

You’ve honed your line craft. You use strong verbs to drive your sentences and avoid unnecessary adverbs. You balance showing and telling with finesse, and your pacing flows naturally with the rhythm of each sentence.
