Where to Promote Your Romance Book on Facebook

BookTok (TikTok) and Bookstagram (Instagram) can be incredibly powerful platforms for marketing your book. A single viral post can propel your author career to new heights.
But not everyone feels comfortable on those platforms and would rather connect with readers on Facebook. Many authors then join generic book promotion groups, where there are no readers to be found and their posts quickly get buried under a flood of other promotional content. Fortunately, there are plenty of bookish Facebook groups that genuinely welcome indie authors and allow you to promote your work.
To help you find them, I’ve curated a list of (mostly) romance book groups where you can promote your books for free, actually connect with your target audience, as well as find beta readers or ARC readers.
Before You Join
Before joining any group, be sure to read its rules. Many groups only allow promotional posts on specific days to avoid becoming overwhelmed with promo content.
From my experience, it’s best to give more than you take. Engage with other members, join conversations, and only recommend your book when it genuinely matches the tropes, themes, or vibes a reader is looking for. Tell them why your book is a good fit. Make sure any images you attach are high quality. There’s nothing worse than making a poor first impression!
This list is organised in alphabetical order. Click on each group name to visit the relevant Facebook group. I am not affiliated with or associated with any of the groups listed below. At the time of writing, all information is accurate, but group rules and availability may change over time.
