On a Personal Note: Scratching My Head

We’ve had lots of good weather, and I’ve been enjoying a lot of time outside in parks and gardens. We even had our first barbecue!

This month, I haven’t bought a single book. Can you believe it? Because I can’t, haha.

My March Reads:

Audiobook:

Problematic Summer Romance by Ali Hazelwood

Physical:

You’ve Found Oliver by Dustin Thao

The House Of My Mother by Shari Franke

Ebook:

Fight by Sloane St. James

You’ve Found Oliver was not what I expected. I mean, I’m not sure what I expected, but not that. I don’t want to give too much away in case you still want to read it. It was bittersweet, and I can’t wait to read You’ve Reached Sam next. I’ve heard the emotional impact might be even more intense if you read them in the ‘wrong’ order. I’ll let you know next month!

I’ve been working on a set of erotica short stories, which has been both fun and exciting. I think there are more to come, and it’s always great to build ongoing relationships with clients. I’ve also tweaked a few bits and bobs on my website as you may have noticed.

Scratching My Head

I’ve tried to make sense of my website analytics, but I haven’t come very far. How many visitors do I get? Which pages do they click on? And so on…

I tested it with my husband, and visitors are only tracked if they accept cookies – which is, of course, exactly what should happen under GDPR (thanks, Wix!). It still surprised me that if someone simply ignores the pop-up and browses my site, there’s zero indication that anyone visited.

I thought it would at least show that someone was there, even if no one was being fully tracked, if that makes sense. But if that’s how it is, I’ll work with the data I do get, of course.

Funnily enough, my husband builds websites for a living, but I created this one entirely by myself. It’s simple, but elegant and pretty, and I’m rather proud of it. Wix is very easy to work with. I’ve tried WordPress before, and it was an absolute nightmare for me. It’s often recommended, and so many editors and authors use it – kudos to anyone who understands that platform! It certainly isn’t for me.

By the way, after a few enquiries, I’m happy to announce that I now also accept payments via PayPal.

If you’re looking for a romance or erotica editor, I’d love to hear about your project. You can explore my rates and services here.
